German lacking after flash flood in southern France

PARIS (Reuters) – A 70-year-old German nationwide was lacking on Thursday following a flash flood that swept by way of a summer time camp in southern France, native authorities stated.

Heavy rains have poured down on the French division of Gard, about 150 km (90 miles) northwest of the town of Marseilles, bursting riverbanks and forcing the evacuation of kids from the holiday camp of Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas.

About 120 gendarmes, 300 firemen and 4 helicopters have been deployed within the space and emergency providers rescued a complete of 119 youngsters, native authorities stated in a press release.
